Fri Dec 13 From 12.30pm at the Glenelg Football Club, Brighton Rd Glenelg.
The Glenelg Football Club is pleased to announce that Matthew Lokan, our Head of Football Development , will be the club’s Reserves Grade Coach for 2014.
Matthew has a real passion for coaching and will be a great ally for our Senior Coach Nick Stevens. Matthew has spent the last 2 seasons coaching Belconnen in the NEAFL competition where he took his side into a Grand Final in his second season. Matthew’s new full-time role at the Club will allow him to work very closely with Nick and ensure we are preparing players in the best possible way to be ready for League Football.
The club is also pleased to announce that Kyle Gallard will be taking over as the Senior Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
Kyle has extensive knowledge in the area of strength and conditioning and runs a variety of training programs for personal training groups and individuals. Kyle works with a number of elite athletes in different sports ,and is very well prepared for his venture into field of Australian Rules Football. Kyle is young and energetic, and in his role will work very closely with the club’s Sports Scientist Andrew Modra.
The football club is very excited about Matthew and Kyle being involved in our senior program, and we officially welcome them into our coaching and conditioning staff.
Kyle will take over the reins from Damien Raidis. “Radar” has been a part of the club, first as a player and then as a Strength & Conditioning coach for well over 10 years. Due to increasing family and working commitments he was unable to commit the extra time the club required for this role. We thank Damian for his input over many years and his experience and expertise will be missed.
The Glenelg Fooball Club would like to congratulate Matt Scharenberg who has been selected at pick 6 by Collingwood.
Scharenberg will join former Glenelg team mate Ben Kennedy at Collingwood.
A great AFL Draft for South Australian players & a real reminder of the quality level of talent our state produces.
