Thank you to all of our members and supporters for joining us at Gliderol Stadium on Saturday night to witness our boys defeat Sturt by 28 points.  It was a fantastic atmosphere in the terraces and obviously a positive result on the field!  The game plan is coming together and we’re starting to see the outcomes of our football program come to life.   Check Mass’ coaches report for more details <Here>.  With two wins in a row we’re obviously looking to build on this momentum on Friday night at City Mazda Stadium against West Adelaide.

Membership
We’re also hoping our team’s performance may trigger a number of the of our 2012 members who have yet to renew their membership and perhaps encourage former members to get back on board.   So far this year we have recruited 217 new members to the Club however approximately 230 season and/or home match members remain un-renewed from last year.   We are reading Port Adelaide has reached record membership levels this year on the back of ‘momentum’ whilst SANFL club Sturt has driven their membership based on survival.  At Glenelg we are building momentum but not immune to our own financial challenges.  Your membership counts in more ways than one…so please get on board today.  With 6-home games to come and a range of exclusive member benefits - including Bistro discounts and 20% of GFC merchandise – a GFC membership is still great value <Here>.

Home matches and 1973 Celebrations

With the completion of April Saturday nights at Gliderol Stadium we now turn our attention to 31 May when we take on the Panthers in our only Friday night home game for the year <Here>.   The following week we celebrate the 40^th Anniversary of our famous 1973 Premiership when we take on North Adelaide on the Queen’s Birthday public holiday Monday 10 June.  If you would like to get even closer to these celebrations, tickets are available to the Hall of Fame and Premiership Renuion for just $65 .    As we work towards our next premiership, its moments like these that allow us to briefly reflect our past achievements and celebrate our wonderful history.

The Bay Bar & Bistro plus ‘Sticks’

Our next home game might be some 5 weeks away however your club remains open!.  I encourage you to take advantage of your GFC member discounts and drop in for a meal at the Bay Bar & Bistro.   Also one of our favourite sons Stephen Kernahan is returning to Brighton Road on Friday 17 May as our very special guest speaker at our first Tiger Lunch for 2013.  As you can imagine tickets are selling fast so I encourage to book today to avoid missing out on this rare opportunity <Here>.
