Blue Johnston’s 1934 Magarey Medal

Our CEO Steve Moore attended a ceremony at Adelaide Oval at last Sunday’s Showdown where the 1934 Magarey Medal won by Glenelg Football Club Hall of Famer Blue Johnston was presented to the SANFL.

The donation of the medal to the SANFL was made by the custodian of the medal and friend of Blue, Sue Jarrett, with the blessing of Blue’s family, who were represented on the day by niece Kay O’Rielly and grand-niece Julie Brown.

The medal will be made available to the Glenelg Football Club for special events upon request.

CLICK HERE for more detail on the medal and a podcast with SANFL historian Chistine Halbert.
