ROUND 14 TEAMS NORTH V GLENELG
Glenelg has regained key forward Clint Alleway for its clash with North Adelaide at Prospect Oval on Saturday.
Alleway, who was suspended for three matches for striking South’s Luke Durdin in Round 10, has bolstered the Tigers’ marking targets inside 50m.
‘’That was the difference in our last game – that we didn’t have a tall option up forward with Clint out,’’ Glenelg football manager Matt Lokan said.
‘’So having him back in will be great.’’
Co-captain Ty Allen has been included on the extended interchange bench after posting solid form in the reserves working back from a minor thigh strain.
‘’He’s a chance to play his week,’’ Lokan said.
‘’Ty has been in some really consistent form in the reserves and he’s been able to string a couple of weeks together now which has been the hardest thing for him.
‘’If we can get Ty Allen up and running in the next couple of weeks it is going to be a massive help for us.’’
Sam Underwood, Riley McFarlane and Nathan Stark have also been added to the Bays’ 23-man squad with two players to be trimmed before the bounce.
Star midfielder Sam Lonergan will miss one match with a back complaint while forward Lewis Hender (knee soreness) is going to be examined by a surgeon.
‘’We’re not exactly sure what the problem with Lewy is but we’re hopeful he will only miss one week,’’ Lokan said.
McDonald’s SA Under-18 midfielder Cory Gregson will play for his college on the weekend.
