PLAYER DEPARTURES

Andrew Hooper

The Glenelg Football Club wishes to advise its members and supporters that Andrew Hooper will not be continuing with the club in 2015.

Andrew joined us at the start of the 2013 season from the Western Bulldogs. He was our leading goalkicker this season with 29 goals. Andrew has decided to go home to Melbourne to be closer to his family and friends, and hopes to continue his career in the VFL competition. We wish “Hoops” all the best and thank him for his contribution to the club over the past two seasons.

Mitch Thorp

The club also advises that after serving just one year of his two year contract, Mitch Thorp has decided to head home to Tasmania. Mitch has advised family reasons for his decision to head back home. The club has come to acceptable terms with Mitch and the Devonport Football club, with whom he will be playing coach in the 2015 season, to terminate his contract. We wish Mitch, his wife Kayla and their family all the best with life back in Tasmania and hope Mitch enjoys success with his new football role.
