Saturday's win against West Adelaide, who came to Gliderol Stadium with a very strong competitive spirit, was punctuated by an even contribution from a group of players who were committed to playing their roles. Role players who know and understand their role and who are prepared to observe the disciplines that go with it, makes for a more functional team and a more efficient team. This aspect of the game revolves around controlling the controllables consistently.
Goal kicking accuracy was also a feature. It meant that there was always score board pressure on the opposition.
Clearly, there is plenty of room for improvement. Skill execution and decision making errors, sometimes under pressure, sometimes not, created scoring opportunities for West Adelaide.
Thank you to the very good crowd support at Gliderol Stadium on Saturday. This week we take on a very strong opposition in Woodville West Torrens at Woodville Oval. We hope to see you there.
Congratulations to Ty Allen for 100 outstanding games. The reaction from the whole playing group to Ty's 100th game was indicative of the respect, admiration and appreciation they all have for him. They have seen first hand how he goes about his football - his 100% effort 100% of the time approach. They have seen what it has taken to go from the fringes of the senior team to be an integral part of the team, to winning a best and fairest and representing South Australia. They have benefitted from his feedback and from observing his passion. Watch out for the next 100.
