No doubt this was the best four quarter performance for the year, and we’ve now had a patch of consistent style for three weeks. We were offensively efficient and better defensively which has been the growth area needed.
The challenge is to keep the same level of application to task and maintain momentum.
The team is starting to find itself positionally and settle more, with players gaining stronger chemistry with each other and gaining more familiarity with role and expectation.
It was pleasing to see pressure applied with speed and aggression at the 25 minute mark of the last quarter and players not letting the scoreboard dictate effort.
With several players returning from injury we face tougher selection meetings, which is a good problem to have, but guarantees us nothing. The game immediately in front of us is a tough one, but one that is motivating with its challenge.
Eagles in Round 12 – we look forward to it.
