SANFL is set to revert back to a Torrens University SA U18 State Talent Hub in preparation for the 2022 NAB AFL National Championships.
Explaining the adjustment on SANFL Radio, Torrens University SA U19 coach Tony Bamford said it was designed to best provide SA’s talented teenagers with the best opportunity to be selected for their State next year.
Players will be selected for the 2021/2022 Torrens University SA U18 Talent Hub in mid October, with the first camp to be held at Thebarton Oval from December 6-10.
A second camp will be conducted at Thebarton Oval from January 17-21 next year, with both gatherings including a focus on skill development, conditioning, physical testing and team building.
It comes on the back of exciting news that this year’s Torrens University SA U19 team will play a further three matches, starting with a curtain-raiser to the AFL Grand Final against Western Australia at Perth’s Optus Stadium on Saturday September 25.
The Croweaters will then host the Allies (Northern Territory, Queensland and Tasmania) on Sunday October 3 as a curtain-raiser to the SANFL Reserves Grand Final at Adelaide Oval.
The Sandgropers will travel to Adelaide to face the Torrens University SA U19 team at Thebarton Oval on Sunday October 10.
