Hostplus SANFL Grand Final Eve player presentation makes a comeback

SANFL is pleased to announce the traditional SANFL Grand Final Eve player presentation in Rundle Mall will return next weekend for the first time in four years.

The presentation of the 2023 Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final players and coaches, and officiating umpires, will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 11am at the eastern end of the Mall, on the corner of Twin St.

SEN SA will be broadcasting its Saturday morning sports show, hosted by Bryce Gibbs and Thom Lion, live on stage from Rundle Mall prior to the presentation getting underway.

All players and the senior coaches will be presented on stage and available for autograph signings and photos. Fans also have an opportunity to have their photo taken with the Thomas Seymour Hill Premiership Cup.

There will also be ticket giveaways on the day for both the Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final and the first-ever Official Grand Final After Party – Play On, presented by the Advertiser.

Play On – featuring smash-hit international DJs Hot Dub Time Machine and DÉ SAINT – will be held straight after the Grand Final on the Lindsay Head Terrace rooftop bar on Level 5 of Adelaide Oval’s Riverbank Stand.

The Grand Final Eve presentation was a longstanding tradition for SANFL, dating back to the 1980s, but has not been held since 2019 due to the Covid pandemic.

SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said he was delighted to see the Grand Final Eve event return this year, providing passionate SANFL footy supporters with an opportunity to celebrate the Grand Final atmosphere in the city and have a final chance to get up close to the players and coaches on the eve of the big day.

“We’re really excited to see the Grand Final Eve player presentation return – it’s a wonderful opportunity for fans to have one last chance to meet and greet the players before the big dance on Sunday and we’re hoping to see a big turnout of Glenelg and Sturt supporters,” Mr Chandler said.

The 2023 Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final on Sunday will be the first SANFL League Grand Final in which Glenelg and Sturt have met since 1974.
