We have another huge day of football at Stratarama Stadium this Saturday, June 29! A triple header awaits, with our GFCW side playing against Norwood in their Preliminary final. Should the girls win, they book themselves a spot in the big dance on June 6 against South Adelaide.
The Reserves squad will take on the Bulldogs, whilst our League side will line up against Adelaide for the Sammy D Foundation Violence Prevention Round. Although only four teams in the SANFL will be participating this weekend in Violence Prevention Round, over 30,000 junior and senior players across the weekend at 160 clubs across seven sporting bodies will wear a blue arm band to say NO to violence and YES to mateship.
The Sammy D Foundation was formed to educate young people on the impacts of violence and drug & alcohol misuse as 17 years ago, South Adelaide player Sam Davis’ life was tragically cut short by a one punch attack.
We will be selling beanies at the merch tent throughout game day to support the Sammy D Foundation, or you can donate online at www.sammydfoundation.org.au!
A busy weekend of events, with Chris Curran also celebrating his 150th game in the Black & Gold following what is still proving to be a stellar career. A day filled with celebration, we are sure it is going to be a fantastic day at Stratarama Stadium!
