2024 Club Champion Awards Night

The Glenelg Football Club Women’s 2024 Club Champion Awards Night was a night to remember, celebrating the outstanding achievements of its players over the past season. The highlight of the evening was Jess Bates being named Club Champion, amassing an impressive 233 votes. Her exceptional performance on the field was further recognized as she also clinched the prestigious Cass Hartley Best Team Player award, solidifying her position as a standout player this season.

Jo Miller followed as second for the Club Champion title, earning 133 votes, a testament to her consistent and impactful performances throughout the season.

Throughout the night, remarkable talents were acknowledged. Marie Martino was honored as the Best League Defensive Player and shared the Dual Stripes award with Jess Bates, celebrating their significant contributions to the team. Demi McCarthy was named the Development League Stripes Player, adding to the recognition of emerging talents within the club.

Eloise Mackereth’s prowess in front of goal was rewarded as she took home the Leading Goal Kicker award with a commendable tally of 14 goals. Alice Bradley’s exceptional season in the development league earned her the Development League Best and Fairest award, showcasing her all-around capabilities and dedication to the Bays.

We also officially farewelled Alice Bradley as she has informed the club she will retire after a fantastic career with Glenelg.

The Glenelg Football Club Women’s 2024 Club Champion Awards Night was a fitting tribute to the hard work, talent, and sportsmanship displayed by the players throughout the season. It celebrated not only the individual achievements but also the collective spirit and camaraderie that define the club, and the Women’s program is eager to get to work for season 2025.
