2022 AGM – Congratulations to all award recipients

Glenelg Football Club would like to congratulate the 2022 Award Winners, who were presented with their official plaques of recognition at the 2022 AGM on Monday 20th February.

Kate Williams celebrated a decade at the Bay with an incredible 10-year Service Award following her time as Trainer and Head Trainer for the senior men’s program.

Angela Moritz was commemorated for her 5-year Service Award as player and Assistant Coach for our women’s program.

Rick Green was also awarded the 5-year Service Award for his commitment to the club as a trainer across our junior and senior programs.

Finally, devout club person Belinda Schell received the A.J. Wadham Volunteer of the Year Award following her incredible work supporting the club during the 2022 season. Belinda has volunteered for the Glenelg Football club for over 20-years, starting back in 1998 working on the hotdog stand! She spent the following 15 years as Water Runner and Trainer for the senior and junior programs. Since 2015, Belinda has committed to the club as Senior Trainer, Reserves Team Manager, Mascot and Scoreboard Attendant. Belinda is recognised for her commitment and dedication toward the club, especially following the illness of he husband and club volunteer David who was hospitalised last year after contracting Covid-19. Belinda continues to support the club into Season 2023 with David by her side – they attend a training session a week and every home and away game throughout the season.

Without the passion, support and efforts of our valued volunteers, Glenelg Football Club could not exist. So, we extend a huge thank you to these three fine members of the Tiger Family and to everyone who contributed towards GFC’s fantastic season in 2022.

Belinda Schell is presented her A.J. Wadham Volunteer of the Year Award by Club President Peter Carey.
