2022 Leadership Group – Max Proud to don guernsey #5

Max Proud will don the number 5 as he retains his captaincy for the 2022 Hostplus SANFL League season.

Previously holding guernsey number 19, Max will now take ownership of the famous ‘number 5’ following Chris Curran’s recent retirement.

Joining Max as dual vice captains are 2021 Best and Fairest winner Luke Partington and three-time Ken Farmer Medalist Liam McBean.

After an impressive first season with the Tigers, Sam Durdin has been elevated into the leadership group as deputy vice captain. Billy Stretch and Matthew Allen will also continue to support the group following their leadership development through Youth Opportunities in 2021.

Senior coach Brett Hand is extremely confident in the capabilities of these six leaders to take the team one step further this year and continue building upon the club’s trademark.

“These guys have definitely shone out in the season I’ve been here. They will certainly hold you guys and carry you on and off the field. Congratulations,” he said at the official leadership group announcement.

Former leader Andrew Bradley has elected to step down in 2022 in light of his growing family and personal commitments, but will continue to provide input.
