2024 Leadership Group

Liam McBean will head into his first season as Glenelg Football Club Captain. 

Premiership Player Liam McBean will take over Captaincy in 2024, donning the #5 alongside a strong leadership group.

Following what was a hugely successful 2023, McBean is primed and ready to take on the responsibility as captain with the support of Matt Allen as his Vice Captain and an array of experienced and new support by his side.

Senior Coach Darren Reeves is delighted to work alongside the group, explaining “Really excited in the Leadership group that we have to lead us in 2024. With a great mix of experienced Leaders in Captain Liam McBean, VC Matt Allen along with Luke Reynolds and Darcy Bailey, the opportunity to add some new faces into the group in Alex Martini & Corey Lyons is pleasing and we look forward to seeing continued development right through the year. We feel like we have a range of different qualities amongst them all and collectively it’s a really strong Leadership Group.”

The Hostplus SANFL season kicks off on March 29th (Good Friday) against Port at Stratarama Stadium. It is shaping up to be a thrilling day of football, with both Women’s teams playing beforehand and the Men’s Reserves kicking off their season at South Adelaide at 11:20am.
