Glenelg Football Club Announces 2025 GFCW Leadership Group
The Glenelg Football Club is thrilled to unveil our dynamic and talented Leadership Group for the 2025 season!
Sam Franson will continue as the Club’s Captain for a second consecutive year after a strong 2024 campaign. Recognised for her outstanding leadership both on and off the field, Franson, who was named Captain of the SANFLW State Team last season, is a respected figure among her teammates and the wider football community.
Joining Franson in the leadership group is Jess Bates, who will take on the role of Vice-Captain for the first time. Bates has shown exceptional dedication and commitment to the team, and we look forward to seeing her thrive in this new leadership role.
The Club is excited to welcome Ella Quinn to the leadership group as she makes her debut for Glenelg this season. Alongside her, Kiahni Russell, an emerging leader at just 20 years old, will bring her passion and energy to the group.
Rounding out our leadership team are Lauren Edwards and Ellie Kellock, two seasoned veterans who have been cornerstones of the Glenelg Football Club and the SANFLW competition. Their wealth of experience and leadership will provide invaluable support to the group.
Head Coach Talia Radan is eager to see the Leadership Group’s impact on the team this season:
“All six of our leaders have a significant influence on the playing group, both on and off the field. Together, they complement each other’s strengths and lead by example through their commitment, work ethic, football IQ, and relentless drive to improve and bring success to the Club.”
The GFCW Reserves side will kick Round 3 of their season with a curtain raiser for the League’s Round 1 clash against Central District. Be sure to catch the action on March 16 at X Convenience Oval.
