2025 SA U16 Girls Squad finalised

By ZAC MILBANK

Selectors have finalised the 30-player SA U16 girls squad to defend the AFLW National Championship in April.

To be coached by dual championship-winning mentor Bek McMahon, the Croweaters have been trimmed from the initial 49-player Academy squad announced in November.

Woodville-West Torrens’ Maia Freemantle and North Adelaide’s Caitlin Hardin are among the top-agers returning from last year’s undefeated campaign.

All eight SANFL clubs are represented in the final squad, with Norwood having the most players selected, with six.

As many as eight bottom-age players have been chosen, to ensure next year’s campaign will again have players feature with championship experience.

South Australia will play two matches, the first against Western Australia in Claremont on Sunday April 6 before hosting the Brisbane Lions Academy at Thomas Farms Oval, Unley on Tuesday April 15.
