Glenelg Reserves premiership player Bodie Ryan has been drafted to Hawthorn Football Club.
The medium-sized defender was selected by the Hawks with Pick 46 in the 2023 AFL Draft, just a year after his cousin Jakob Ryan was drafted to Collingwood from the Bay.
At just 18 years old Bodie has already celebrated many successes with the Tigers, winning an U18 premiership in 2022 and the Reserves premiership in September. In 2021 he also featured in the U16s grand final match against South Adelaide.
But for Hawthorn, it was his performance in the National Championships which stood out, with Bodie being named best afield in South Australia’s final two games.
