Checkside Chats with Robbie Neill and Lexi Edwards

By ZAC MILBANK

Undefeated for a second year in succession.

South Australia’s Under-18 Girls continue to reign supreme on the national stage so there is plenty to digest and discuss on the latest episode of Checkside Chats.

SANFL Head of Female Talent Robbie Neill provides outstanding insight into the backgrounds and performances of a wide variety of the Championship-winning Croweaters, such as India Rasheed, Brooke Boileau and Lily Whitcombe.

He also reveals he’s receiving plenty of interest from interstate in South Australia’s top female talent, in the lead up to the 2023 AFLW Draft.

To celebrate AFL Women’s Coaching Month, Glenelg SANFLW mentor Lexi Edwards tells of her coaching journey as she prepares for her second season at the Brighton Road helm.

A teacher by trade, Edwards has been able to use several elements of her profession while coaching as she furthers herself through her involvement in the BHP Women’s Coaching Academy in attaining her Level 3 certificate.

Life is also about to get more hectic as she and partner Lauren Arnell – Port Adelaide’s AFLW coach – prepare for the birth of their first child early in the new year.
