Douglas off to the Suns

The Glenelg Football Club wishes to advise that our current Women’s Football Operations & Talent Manager & men’s League Assistant Coach, Richard Douglas has been appointed as a Development Coach at the Gold Coast Suns.

Douglas, who commenced at the Bay 12-months ago after a distinguished AFL player career, has played a critical role in managing and evolving our women’s program as well as providing great expertise to the League men’s program, cumulating in our League and Reserves premierships this year.

Club CEO, Justin Scripps said “Richard’s contribution has been significant in the short time he’s undertaken roles in both our women’s and men’s program. In particular, Dougy’s relationship with our players and staff and diligent approach to setting up a great environment for our women’s program, will have long term positive effects for the Club. Whilst we’re sad to see him leave, as with many of our players, it’s great for our coaching staff to get the opportunity to progress their career in the AFL system.”

We wish him and his family all the best with his travels to their new home on the Gold Coast.

Thank you Dougy!
