See below the Limestone Coast Regional Sporting Academy Media Release outlining the detail and importance of our partnership:

“The Limestone Coast Regional Sporting Academy (LCRSA), is happy to announce that the Glenelg Football Club has agreed to become a partner of the LCRSA Program. Football specific skill sessions will be provided to selected female athletes from across the Limestone Coast region on top of gym programs and education sessions.

“The LCRSA is committed to providing local athletes with the opportunity to achieve excellence in sport and life.” said Adrian Maywald (LCRSA Coordinator), “The Glenelg Football Club is an institution that also fosters excellence which is why we are so pleased they have chosen to partner with us. We are excited to be offering a girl’s program to start with. Girl’s football is growing all the time, and it is vital that the female athletes in our region are given the opportunities to succeed. We will continue to work with Glenelg on the possibility of supporting the Male Academies that are already successfully running in our region.”

“There is enormous talent in regional areas, and this program helps athletes realise that talent. Athletes that do not live in the metro area face many hurdles in achieving their sporting goals.” said Adrian, “The Academy is working towards removing some of these hurdles for not only the athletes but the families as well.”

“Glenelg are going to provide the athletes with specialised elite coaching that will enhance and develop their talent. We look forward to supporting these athletes, along with Glenelg to hopefully achieve their goals in the sport.”

The opportunity to partner with an organisation that is the reigning SANFL Premiers and a recent SANFLW Premier is extremely exciting.”

Justin Scripps , Glenelg FC CEO had this to say about the partnership, “The Glenelg Football Club is committed to supporting our junior players to fulfill their potential and play football at the highest level. The opportunity for our talented South East junior girls to access the LCRSA program will compliment our Academy program and provides a much more holistic approach to their development”
