Job Vacancy – Club Maintenance person

The Glenelg Football Club is currently looking for a part-time Maintenance Person to undertake various general maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:

  • Proven expertise in various general maintenance tasks
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Sound physical fitness and strength
  • Ability to solve problems promptly and autonomously
  • Sound initiative and the ability to utilise available resources
  • Exceptional people skills to foster strong working relationships

The Maintenance  Person will be responsible for undertaking the following types of tasks, but not limited to:

  • Basis plumbing/toilet and electrical fixes
  • Basic painting
  • Window & periodic floor cleaning and maintenance
  • Clean beer lines
  • Hang wall frames
  • Car park blowing and external general cleaning and maintenance
  • Stock unloading
  • Pre-game changeroom / grandstand cleaning and maintenance
  • Graffiti removal
  • General handyman maintenance (fix chairs, wine barrels, refurbish alfresco tables etc)

The main features of the role are:

  • 15 hours per week to be negotiated with flexibility (ie Mon – Fri 9am-12pm)
  • Casual rate of pay in line with the Registered & Licensed Clubs Award
  • After-hours work (weekends and evenings) may be required.

Whilst training will be provided, the role would suit a semi-retired / retired tradie or someone with extensive experience looking to contribute their services to the support the footy club.
