Job Vacancy – Women’s Assistant Coach

ABOUT US

The Glenelg Football Club is a founding member of the SANFL Women’s competition and winner of the 2021 SANFLW Premiership. To build on the strong foundations laid in 2021, we are looking to add an Assistant Coach to our program. This is an exciting opportunity for the right applicant.

The Glenelg FC Women pride ourselves on being a development focused program within a fast growing and exciting pathway to the AFLW. This isn’t exclusive to player’s, our development pathway also applies to our coaches and support staff. We offer opportunities for our female Coaches to potentially be a part of the SANFL Female Coaching Academy, Coaching at the Adelaide Crows in the Crows v Power Exhibition Games and coaching the next generation of Glenelg FC Women within our junior Statewide Super Shield program.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Glenelg FC Women’s Senior Coach, the club is currently seeking expressions of interest for a motivated individual to join our Coaching Panel. The role will be responsible for:

  • Planning and conducting training sessions in liaison with head coach & assistants
  • Ensuring alignment with the clubs development focus
  • Working with all stakeholders including Administrators, Volunteers, Medical and GFC staff
  • Provision of Strong and positive leadership and relationship development
  • Provision of feedback to players to fast track their development
  • Contributing to, supporting and promoting a positive and strong club culture
  • Participate as a member of the Coaching Team to develop plans and strategies that further the
    development of the team

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to both provide and receive feedback
  • Experience playing or coaching in an elite or local sporting environment
  • An understanding of the SANFL Women’s competition
  • Level 1 coaching qualification – or ability to acquire
  • A strong personal brand, including ability to display integrity, a commitment to professionalism & accountability
  • A commitment to learning & development – and a willingness to assist build a continuous improvement culture
  • Ability to display a high level of discretion, judgement
  • Be able to commit to the time required
  • Flexibility and responsive to change in direction and priorities, as required
  • Strong football knowledge and understanding
