Glenelg Football Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Karl Finlay for the 2025 SANFL season.
At just 23 years old, Finlay brings a wealth of experience with over 50 league games under his belt and a standout performance at state level in 2024. Known for his athleticism and versatility, Finlay can excel in key positions at either end of the ground, making him a valuable addition to the Bays’ lineup.
Head coach Darren Reeves expressed his excitement about Finlay’s signing:
“It’s really pleasing to bring Karl into our football club. At 23 years old, with nearly 60-odd league games of experience and a state football appearance in 2024, he’s a perfect addition to our group. He’s an outstanding athlete who can play key positions at either end of the ground, and we’re excited about what he’ll bring in 2025 and beyond. Having worked with Karl over several years, I’ve seen firsthand his great character, huge work ethic, and desire to keep improving. We can’t wait to see him in action.”
Finlay’s career highlights include captaining South Australia at the 2019 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and playing a pivotal role for North Adelaide in recent seasons. His defensive prowess and ability to transition seamlessly into forward roles make him a dynamic player who will enhance Glenelg’s strength on the field.
