We went to Prospect with a plan and delivered.
We needed to respond from our poor performance the week before. We produced a strong response across the board and our leaders were a driving force.
But you can’t just be a response team – a team that has a good rebound game from a bad game. We need to be a team that produces consistent high performance, regardless of who’s in or out, or who we play.
This win probably wasn’t the best we’ve had in my time, but it will do more for our development than any other tough win.
We had seven players under 20 years of age, and nine new players in total. To have to dig in with no rotations for 20 minutes against a top 2 team with a tail wind, meant we had to call on all our resilience and mental strength to run and compete when the body says stop.
We unveiled our 12th debutant for the year and we are continuing to find talent within our list – and well done to Tom Condon on his debut.
With a short turnaround, we have to recover well and get ready for West at home and we must attack this game with the same vigor and endeavour.
