Round 13 against Centrals was a game with high stakes.
We needed to win to keep ourselves in the race for a top 4 spot, and also create a 3-3 record at home. So, emotions were mixed on the siren. Our victory, and South’s win over Norwood, meant we had secured a finals berth.
To win close games and know how to close them out is very important, and that was our fourth win under a goal this year. So, from that point of view, there was some elation and relief.
However, our brand wasn’t where I would like it to be, and too many ‘self inflicted wounds’ meant we made the game harder for ourselves. But I must add that I thought Centrals were very good, both in structure and endeavour, and played very well on the day.
We have some work to do, and some training to get certain aspects right, but we have time and opportunity. This week will be another tough contest against Sturt at Peter Motley Oval – hope to see some yellow and black scarves out there!
