League Match Wrap: Round 5
Round 5 was a game of two halves.
They had 14 shots to 9 in 1st half – we had 14 shots to 9 in the 2nd half.
However, we are not playing to the level required at the moment and we’re committing critical errors that cost goals – both for and against.
Our 1 on 1 defence has some work to improve, but other aspects were pleasing.
We are learning to play against flood teams in fast play. Eagles play like West – flood back 15 into your back 50 and try to run it out.
We knew we could pick our way through their slow play defence and it was pleasing to have 34 inside 50s in the second half.
We need consistency with effort in order to produce our best consistently.
