A Message From The CEO

Finals footy is here again and what a journey it’s been in 2025! Before we charge into September, I want to reflect on what we’ve achieved together as a Club this year so far.

Proudly, the League team enters our seventh finals series in a row which is a testament to the hard work that Darren Reeves, Paul Sandercock, our coaching group, leaders and playing group have devoted to the season. To their credit our Reserves team, led by Jared Millington, finished on top after the minor round which also reflects well on the quality of the program and depth in our current squad. Both teams head into the final series with great confidence that our best footy is good enough to win both premierships.

At the completion of the home and away season, there are several key achievements that I want to acknowledge for which we are incredibly proud of:

  • We hosted the biggest crowds in the SANFL at Stratarama Stadium.
  • Our membership is now over 2200 people – and still growing.
  • Seven straight finals series in a row – equaling our Club’s record run of finals from 1984 to 1990.
  • In addition, there are several key metrics we focus on that are critical to give ourselves every opportunity for premiership success. Each year they are a focus, and I’m proud to recognise those metrics in 2025:
    • Finishing in the top 3 at the end of the home-and-away season.
    • Our points for and against ratio (ladder percentage) has met our target.
    • The age and game profile of our League team sits within the benchmarked range for which we know enables success.
    • Fit and available list. Our medical, conditioning and rehab team has done an extraordinary job — only 34 players used all year, the lowest in the SANFL and better than 17 AFL clubs. That’s an incredible achievement, and we’re fortunate to have such talented people behind our players’ success. Full credit for this achievement must go to Callum Read (Head of Strength & Conditioning), Dr Ben Magi, our Physio’s Jack Armfield and Lachlan Surman, our Rehab team of Lachy Atkinson & Gabi Dollar and training staff.

It would be remiss of me not to thank all our staff, coaches, trainers and volunteers for the tireless work everyone does to support our players and our League team’s success.

To you, our members and fans, now it’s your turn. Let’s turn Adelaide Oval into a sea of black and gold. The energy you bring from the stands lifts our players more than you know — so bring your voices, your colours and your passion.

This club is built on its people — players, staff, volunteers, and most importantly, you, our members, fans and families. Together, we’re creating something special — and together, we’ll be Hunting History in the coming weeks.

Thanks again for your support throughout the year. It’s very much appreciated.
