Glenelg has dominated the Powerade Breakthrough Player awards this week, with Hugh Stagg and Ella Boag being nominated in the men’s and women’s competitions.
Round 6 Powerade Breakthrough Player Hugh Stagg has been a consistent performer inside Glenelg’s attacking 50m arc, kicking nine goals for the year while applying vital defensive pressure in averaging 4.5 tackles a game.
The 19-year-old booted four goals to go with his 12 disposals against North Adelaide on Sunday, including two clever snaps in traffic.
Round 12 SANFLW Powerade Breakthrough Player Ella Boag has also been impressive in her first League season.
A member of SA’s victorious U18 team at the AFLW National Championships, Boag provided plenty of drive from defence to register five rebound 50s with her 18 disposals and five tackles in a fight-back win against North at Prospect.
