Glenelg Set for Milestone Match and Redemption Clash

This weekend marks a significant milestone for the Glenelg Football Club, as they prepare to play their 100th match in the SANFLW competition. In a special home game at Stratarama Stadium, the Tigers will face Central District in a Round 8 clash on Saturday morning, seeking redemption from their Round 1 performance against the Bulldogs.

The match will celebrate Glenelg’s presence in the SANFLW since the league’s inception in 2017, highlighting their growth and impact over the years. Despite coming off another tough loss, the Bays will be aiming to make a strong impact from the first bounce—mirroring the promising start they displayed in last weekend’s otherwise challenging contest.

There will be only one change to the team line-up this week, with Astrid Gooley returning to the side, replacing Cassie McWilliam (personal), who earned last week’s ‘Stripes’ player recognition.

To commemorate the 100-game milestone, Glenelg will host a reunion of past players, who will be celebrated throughout the day. Fans are encouraged to come along to Stratarama Stadium and support the mighty Tigers as they aim to snap their current losing streak in style—alongside some of the most iconic figures in Glenelg’s SANFLW history.

The match will kick off at 11am, Cornes Gates open @ 10am. Tickets can be purchase at the gate on the day.
