Senior Coach Update

The Glenelg Football Club wishes to advise members and supporters that the Club and Senior Coach, Brett Hand, have mutually agreed to part ways.

The decision to part ways has been a difficult one. On one hand, Brett has played a key role in helping to build a greater one club culture and has been open and engaging with our key stakeholders throughout his two years at the Club.  During this time, our League team has remained competitive and has played finals football in both years.

On the other hand, like all football clubs and senior coaching roles, there have been some challenges which have been stressful and exhausting, particularly when trying to run a football program over the previous two years throughout the Covid pandemic.

Glenelg President Peter Carey said, “Brett is a great family man with strong values and has been well liked at the footy club. The Club would like to thank Brett for his dedication and commitment over the last two seasons”.

The Club will commence the recruitment process immediately in preparation for the 2023 season.
