Seven Croweaters in All-Australian Team

South Australia’s dominance at the AFL U16 Girls National Championships has been reflected in seven players being chosen in the 2024 All-Australian line-up.

Together with dual championship-winning mentor Bek McMahon, the All-Australian coach, SA has the highest representation in the team after winning its two matches by a combined margin of 158 points.

West Adelaide’s Emily Mableson, who was named as SA’s MVP of the carnival, also received the honour of being selected as the All-Australian captain.

Named on a half-back flank, Mableson was joined in defence by Central’s Miyu Endersby at centre half-back.

Glenelg’s Georgie Fielder, SA’s best player in Game 2 against Western Australia, landed in the centre square while Polly Turner, Charlee Brooksby and Croweaters’ captain Emma Charlton were chosen inside attacking 50m.

South Adelaide’s Layla Vizgaudis was selected on the interchange bench.

The All-Australian team was selected by Kevin Sheehan (AFL Talent Ambassador – Chair), Paul Hamilton (AFL National Talent Development & Competitions Manager), Jess Smith (AFL National Female Talent Manager) and AFLW club representatives Keegan Brooksby (Hawthorn), Flynn Loft (North Melbourne), Naomi Maidment (Port Adelaide) and Shae Sloane (Melbourne).
