Swanson to reach 50 SANFLW games

Glenelg premiership powerhouse Caitlyn Swanson is set to reach her 50 Hostplus SANFLW League game milestone this weekend in a Round 1 clash against her origin side.

Inaugural SANFLW player, Caitlyn Swanson began her career at the West Adelaide Football Club in 2017 playing 6 games for the club, before signing to Sturt Football Club the following year for an additional 20 games across 2 seasons.

Swanson eyed off the competition in this time and found her football skills and drive aligned well with that of the mighty Tigers. The talented 28-year old now commences her third year at the Bay and describes the club’s culture as the best she has been part of.

“The club has a great family-vibe with a unique and important culture.”

When asked about what she is most excited for in Season 2023, Swanson says “the young girls coming through have a potential that we haven’t seen before, they are so young but so fast and so fit and will do great things this year.”

Swanson reflects on her time at Glenelg alongside veteran Chelsea Packer, describing the two as a good-banter-dynamic-duo who seem to reflect well off each other on the field.

Swanson will play her 24th Glenelg game this Saturday afternoon against her original debuting side, where she will aim to add to her current tally of 32 career goals.
