The Glenelg Football Club is pleased to announce that current North Adelaide Football Club Head of Development, Darren Reeves, will coach the Club in a full-time capacity for the next two seasons.
Reeves has undertaken a variety of coaching roles over the past 13 years, culminating in his current role which incorporates Senior Midfield Coach, Senior Assistant Coach and Reserves Coach. Reeves brings a wealth of experience at State League level, having coached the NT Thunder for two seasons as well as having coached the U18 Centre of Excellence program at the Central District Football Club.
Glenelg Football Club CEO Justin Scripps said “Darren is an experienced coach who has an intimate knowledge of our League competition, the SANFL football pathway and a clear vision on what it takes to build a successful football program in the SANFL. More importantly, he has a real drive to build strong connections with his players and those around him, as well as some key personal and leadership traits that align with our values as a footy club”.
In accepting the role Reeves said, “I’m honoured and incredibly excited to be given the opportunity to coach the Glenelg Football Club. I have been a great admirer of the club and brand of football that it has played over a number of years and believe that my passion and thoughts on the game align well to progressing and growing collectively moving forward. I am looking forward to meeting all the players and staff and getting to work as soon as possible. Bring on 2023″.
Darren Reeves will commence his role on 3rd January 2023.
