Glenelg Football Club is excited to sign ruckman Cameron McGree for season 2023.
McGree brings over 16 years of footy experience, spending his junior days at Reynella and a year with the South Adelaide U18s before making his league debut for the Panthers in 2019. McGree played 14 League games and 68 Reserves games over three years, before returning to the Reynella Wine Flies in 2022.
Towering at 199cm, the ruck consistently stood out in the Southern Football League (SFL), with the team losing just three games for the season. McGree was named best on ground in the Reynella v Morphett Vale grand final – a clash which saw the club win its first A-grade premiership since 2015 and also break Flagstaff Hill’s run of six straight premierships.
Now, the 23-year-old is ready for another crack at SANFL footy and is pleased with his decision to join the Bays.
“While I enjoyed the social side of local football, I’m definitely ready for the challenge of SANFL again and I’m really looking forward to getting into it,” he said.
Head of Football Paul Sandercock said the footy department has been impressed with McGree’s footy and is excited to see him further develop in 2023.
“We’re pleased to be in a position to help Cam reignite his desire to play ruck at SANFL level. He brings great athleticism to the role, and we believe he’ll help fill a void. We’re looking forward to seeing what impact he’ll have over the season,” he said.
Welcome to the Bays, Cam!
