Tigers undefeated in 2022 U17 Futures Carnival (April Division)

The Tigers have achieved a clean sweep in the U17 Futures Carnival this week after claiming wins over North Adelaide, Eagles and West Adelaide.

The Carnival is aimed to further enhance the promotion and development of football throughout the local areas and enables the League Clubs to monitor the progress of the talented ‘youth aged’ footballers within its promotional zone. The Carnival helps SANFL Clubs identify players who may play consistent U18, Reserve or League football in the future. It should be realised that these Carnivals are a very important part of the Talent Pathway and that the performance during these games will help identify talent.

The Futures Carnival, previously known as the County Youth Championships, was introduced in 1989 and was conducted annually during the July school holidays.

In recent times SANFL Clubs have been split into two divisions and played during April school holidays (April Division) and July school holidays (July Division). Players, representing SANFL League Clubs, can only be selected from its / their promotional zone(s) to participate in the Carnival.
