Tigers welcome NTFL duo to the Bay

Glenelg Football Club is excited to welcome NT Women’s Premier League superstars Anju Goninon and Andi Moliere to the Bay in 2023.

At just 20 years old, Darwin Buffettes player Anju Goninon brings seven years of footy experience and an impressive list of accolades, including three U18 premierships, a 50 league game milestone, and, most recently, a League Premiership for season 2021/22.

Renowned for her gritty play and fearless hunt for the footy in packs, the hardworking midfielder also claimed the 2021/22 Women’s Premier League Best and Fairest award.

Now, she’s seeking new challenges in the SANFL competition.

“I wanted to push myself further outside of the NT. I heard that the Glenelg Football Club has a really good club culture, which is very important for me,” she said.

Andi Moliere is no stranger to the black and gold, playing 36 Premier League games with the Nightcliff Tigers since her debut at 17 years old. In season 2021/22, the speedy wing played a key role in Nightcliff’s hugely successful minor campaign which culminated in a grand final appearance against the Darwin Buffettes.

Since her journey began in 2016, Moliere has also claimed an U18 Best and Fairest (18/19), U18 Coaches award (19/20), and a Nightcliff FC Women’s Premier League Rising Star award (20/21).

The high quality recruit is now ready to progress further in her football career.

“What brought me to Glenelg is that I wanted to try another level above NTFL and to grow as a player and learn new footy skills. I also wanted to come to Glenelg because my dad grew up watching and supporting the Bays,” she said.

The club wishes both girls all the best for season 2023.
