Torrens University SA U18 Team – Game 3

By ZAC MILBANK

At least four fresh faces will feature for the Torrens University SA U18 team when it confronts Victoria County in Melbourne on Sunday.

Key forward Tyler Welsh, half-back Louie Montgomery, tall defender Will McCabe and strong-bodied midfielder Tom Wheaton all come into the starting 18 for the clash at Ikon Park from 10.35am SA time.

Welsh and Montgomery are potential father-son selections in the 2024 AFL Draft for the Crows and Power respectively, forcing their way into the line-up as underage players this year.

Wheaton, who missed out on selection in Game 2, will start from the centre square after earning the Round 11 Torrens University U18 MVP nomination for his dominant 32-disposal display against Norwood.

Hawthorn father-son prospect Will McCabe has been listed to start at centre half-back while Kade Herbert, Phoenix Hargrave, Ben Ridgway and Charlie Nicholls have been added to the extended interchange bench.

Searching for their first win of the Championships, the Croweaters have succumbed to the Allies and Victoria Metro in their opening encounters, with a contest against Western Australia in Perth looming on Saturday June 24.
