GFC U/14 and U/16 Girls Squads Announced

An U/14 and U/16 Girls squad has been named to represent Glenelg Football Club at the Intra State Championships in the September school holidays.

Both teams will play three games in three days against Central District, North Adelaide and Sturt.

U/16 SQUAD

Coaches: Emily Woods and Casey McElroy

Emily Woods has been involved in football for many years, including playing SANFLW. She was an assistant coach for the Under 16s at South Adelaide in 2018 and 2019, and also recently coached the Under 17 SANFLW All Stars side in 2021.

Casey McElroy is a new face to the coaching team at Glenelg. Rising through the ranks and playing in the LCWFL, Northern Territory Women’s Premier League and Glenelg SANFLW side, her experience is outstanding. Having met many skilled and passionate coaches, players and staff along the way, her love for the game and desire to be a top player and coach is constantly evolving.

U/14 SQUAD

Coach: Tammy Scott

Tammy Scott comes with a wealth of experience, first coaching in 2016 for both the Under 14 and Under 16 Glenelg Junior teams. She previously ran one of the first all-girls Auskicks at Glenelg for three years before moving into an assistant coach role in the inaugural Glenelg women’s team in 2017. She remained in this role until the end of the 2021 season following the GFC Women’s first premiership. At local level Tammy has also been involved at Morphettville Park coaching the Under 16’s and coaching the women’s team in 2018 and 2019.
