Vale George Rolfe

The Glenelg Football Club is saddened to hear the recent passing of George Rolfe.

George Rolfe had a 30-year association with Glenelg Football Club. He was a major influence in the Glenelg Footballers’ Club in its early days in the mid 1960s when it became a thriving, integral part of the Footy Club. He was on the Footballers’ Club committee from 1966-1979 and was on Glenelg Football Club’s board of directors from 1973 – the year it was formed – until 1979. In 1975 George was honoured with life membership of Glenelg Football Club and he also was a life member and life patron of the Footballers’ Club. He then served on the Past Players and Officials committee from 1980 to 1995.
