Vale John Schneebichler

The Glenelg Football Club is mourning the loss of Past Player and Head of Football, John Schneebichler.

John played 25 matches for the Tigers towards the end of his career, but also made a significant contribution off the field as Head of Football. He was inducted into the SANFL’s prestigious 200 Club in 1987, having played a total of 259 League matches for South Adelaide (234) and Glenelg between 1975 and 1988.

‘Sneezer’ was a high-flying forward with the ability to kick goals, ending with 377 majors across his 14-year career. He also played in two SANFL Grand Finals in 1979 (South) and 1988 (Glenelg), and represented South Australia on five occasions.

”It was a privilege to play and work alongside John. He was a gifted player and certainly carried that talent into the Head of Football role” said Tigers President Peter Carey.

The Glenelg Football Club extends our deepest condolences to the Schneebichler family.
